Highlight

  1. An immersive exhibition exploring Zen through the works of Studio Ghibli. The Zen and Studio Ghibli Exhibition will be held in autumn 2026 at the Higashiyama Cube, New Building of the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art.
    Based on the book Zen and Ghibli, which compiles conversations between Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and Zen monks, this exhibition offers a unique, experiential way to encounter a Zen-like sense of acceptance through Ghibli’s works.
    Ghibli films often embody a worldview that does not divide good and evil, leaves space instead of rushing to answers, and embraces the attitude of “accepting without fully understanding.”
    This resonates deeply with the Zen principles of “not dividing,” “not judging,” and “seeing things as they are.”
    The Boy and the Heron (2023), the latest film by Hayao Miyazaki, which attracted audiences worldwide, leaves a quiet, lingering impression without offering clear answers.
    This exhibition is structured around that film, revealing a Zen-inspired way of seeing that shapes Ghibli’s world.

    How much are the tickets?

    Is there a timed-entry system?
    No, there is no timed-entry system. However, depending on crowd conditions, admission may be regulated if congestion persists.
    Can I purchase tickets at the venue on the day?
    Yes, tickets will be available for purchase at the venue.
    Where can I buy tickets outside the venue?
    Tickets will be available (from July onward) through various ticketing platforms such as Ticket Pia, e+, Lawson Ticket, and Seven Ticket.
    Can I visit only the shop without a ticket?
    No. The shop is only accessible to visitors who have purchased an admission ticket and viewed the exhibition.
    Can I cancel or get a refund for my ticket??
    After purchase, tickets cannot be changed, canceled, refunded, or reissued due to personal reasons.
    Can I resell my ticket if I cannot attend?
    Reselling tickets above the face value, listing them on online auctions, or purchasing tickets for resale purposes is strictly prohibited.
    If such actions are discovered, admission may be denied.
    Can I re-enter the venue?
    Re-entry is generally not permitted. If you need to leave temporarily due to illness, restroom use, or hydration, please inform a staff member.
    Can elementary school children enter alone?
    Children of elementary school age and older may enter without an accompanying adult.
    Preschool children must be accompanied by a person aged junior high school or older.
